MSc. (Sloan Fellowship), M. Applied Psych., B.B. Sc (Hons), Dip. Comp. Sci. M.A.P.S.

George is a registered psychologist and holds a Master of Applied Psychology degree from Monash University, and an honours degree in Behavioural Science from La Trobe University with major studies in psychology and mathematical statistics, as well as a Diploma of Computer Science.

In 2004/05, George completed the Sloan Fellowship MSc at the prestigious London Business School. This program allowed George to explore the latest management thinking with a world-class faculty, acquire knowledge and skills in all areas of general management and leadership, gain insight into specialist areas and share experiences with an international peer group of the highest calibre.

George's business experience commenced in mid 1980's, where he managed the planning and delivery of services in the fledgling Home and Community Care Program of Community Services Victoria. The HACC program brought together a range of health and community based services delivered by both government and non-government providers under the umbrella of a single grants program. Using his training in multivariate statistical methods, he developed many of the techniques and approaches subsequently applied to program management and resource allocation.

He left the public service early in the 1990's to establish a consulting company specialising in program design and financial management, organisation development and data management and analysis.

A key achievement of the period was the introduction of an output based funding system for day programs in Victoria. This was one of the first to be introduced by Community Services, and is still in use more than 10 years later.

This project also gave rise to the development of the Support Needs Assessment. This assessment was specifically designed to capture client characteristics that have a direct impact on staffing requirements for programs delivered in a group setting. It is a quick and reliable tool used in large scale programs to relate client support profiles to funding.

A recognised author, George has published significant papers on public and social programs in Australia and abroad.
